Tottenham may consider cashing in on big-name star amid Saudi interest

Heung-min Son is of interest to clubs in the Saudi Pro League and Daniel Levy may face a big decision if a mega-money offer comes Tottenham’s way for their club captain.

The South Korean had the honour of lifting the Europa League trophy as the captain of the club, and subsequently, Son stated that he could finally consider himself a Tottenham legend.

While there is no doubt that the Spurs faithful would want him to stay after the historic achievement in Bilbao, the 32-year-old has just one year left on his contract.

Over recent days, some reports have claimed that Tottenham are planning on keeping Son for at least one more season, but a new update suggests that the decision may be complicated for the North London club.

Heung-min Son is the subject of strong Saudi interest

The Sun have now claimed that the Tottenham captain is being chased by multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia and Spurs would consider cashing in on him.

It is explained that the 32-year-old is happy to stay at N17 following the club’s Europa League triumph, but there is a chance that he leaves Spurs on a high and sees this as a perfect moment to embark on a new challenge.

The outlet says that Daniel Levy will green-light a major shake-up of the Tottenham squad this summer, and the mega-money sale of the forward could bankroll major investment into the squad this summer.

Son is being lined up as Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement

The Sun goes on to say that with Cristiano Ronaldo set to leave Al-Nassr, the Saudi billionaires are targeting another superstar, and the Spurs man is the one they have set their sights on.

The Saudi Pro League chiefs believe that signing Son would open up the competition to a new audience in the Far East, given how popular the Tottenham man is in that part of the world.

It is revealed that the league’s backers were hoping to persuade Mohamed Salah to join, but having failed to do so, they are now switching their full attention to Son.
