How Daniel Levy feels about a Tottenham return for Fabio Paratici after recent twist

A report has shed light on whether the arrival of Vinai Venkatesham affects Tottenham’s plans to re-hire Fabio Paratici and what Daniel Levy is now thinking about bringing the Italian back to the club.

Fabio Paratici has continued working as a consultant for Tottenham Hotspur over the last two years since being forced to resign from his role as the club’s managing director of football, but it has been reported that Daniel Levy is now trying to bring Paratici back to Spurs in an official role.

Tottenham’s pursuit of the 52-year-old appeared to have been boosted when it emerged that AC Milan’s efforts to appoint Paratici as their sporting director had collapsed.

However, since then, Spurs have appointed Vinai Venkatesham as their new CEO, with the 44-year-old set to join the club this summer to begin his role.

Does Daniel Levy still want to appoint Paratici?

TBR Football have now claimed that the arrival of Venkatesham does not impact Tottenham’s plans to reappoint Paratici, with Levy still keen on appointing the Italian.

In fact, it is explained that Venkatesham had already been informed about Spurs’ plans to re-hire Paratici before he accepted the job.

The outlet says that Levy and the Italian director have held talks, and work is now underway to bring him back to Hotspur Way as soon as his FIFA ban is lifted on June 30.

What role will Fabio Paratici have at Tottenham?

TBR Football also spoke to journalist Graeme Bailey, who speculated that Paratici might not return to the same role that he had previously.

Bailey told the outlet: “The question is, does Paratici have a full-time role? They have had talks about him doing a Luis Campos-type role as ‘football advisor’ – that could be the way forward, initially.”

The journalist suggested that the 55-year-old’s return to the club could be bad news for two senior Spurs officials.

Bailey added: “I think (Scott) Munn and (Johan) Lange will be the victims with Vinai coming in and Paratici doing the transfer stuff, personally.”
