Tottenham’s Djed Spence is now firmly in Everton’s sights, and they may be ready to send their first offer for the England defender.

Spurs have already made some big reinforcements to their backline, securing Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers before paying £52m to land Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton.

Radu Dragusin and Luka Vuskovic are expected to seal their exits, while reports continue to suggest that Cristian Romero has also played his last game for Tottenham.

Additionally, there is also speculation over the future of another Spurs defender who is currently at the World Cup, as Everton take a close look at Djed Spence.

How much Everton are willing to pay for Tottenham’s Djed Spence?

Over recent weeks, a number of outlets have claimed that Everton have set their sights on Djed Spence, as David Moyes looks to add a quality right-back to his squad.

There have been some suggestions that the Toffees view the Spurs full-back as a cheaper option than their top target, Guela Doue, who is valued at €40m (£34.2m).

Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has now revealed that the Toffees are willing to pay just £25m for the England international.

Why £25m is unlikely to be enough to prise Spence away

After coming under major criticism from the English media, Spence redeemed himself with an excellent cameo off the bench against Mexico, showing exactly why Thomas Tuchel wanted him on the plane.

The 25-year-old’s reputation could be enhanced even further over the coming days and weeks, with the Spurs man potentially in line to start against Norway as a result of Jarell Quansah’s suspension.

Having paid £20m for Spence four years ago, it is unlikely that Tottenham would be tempted to accept £25m for him this summer, especially on the back of a successful World Cup campaign with England.
