‘I could be doing some bluff’- Mourinho gives update on Kane’s fitness ahead of NLD

Tottenham fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief as Jose Mourinho confirmed after the club’s 3-3 draw against LASK that Harry Kane is likely to be fit for the North London Derby on Sunday.

Mourinho revealed on Wednesday that Kane, Sergio Reguilon and Carlos Vinicius were all nursing injuries and that they were doubts for the clash against Arsenal at the weekend.

Some Spurs fans feared the worst after the Tottenham boss’ admission and were hoping and praying that the Portuguese coach was simply engaging in his usual mind games.

With Kane and Vinicius both out, Tottenham certainly missed a focal point to their attack yesterday evening in Austria as their performance left a lot to be desired.

However, they will take a point back with them to London, which was enough to seal their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League.

After the match, Mourinho was asked about Kane’s fitness and he admitted that he expects the striker to be available for the weekend.

The Spurs boss said (via Alasdair Gold): “I believe he is going to be fit. He’s having treatment but I could be doing some bluff and pretend he’s in trouble, but he’s not and I think he’ll play [against Arsenal].”
