‘I really hope’ – Graham Roberts wants Spurs man to stay at club for rest of his career

Graham Roberts has showered praise on Hugo Lloris and admitted that he hopes the goalkeeper finishes his career at Tottenham Hotspur.

Lloris is now into his tenth season at Tottenham and has been an important part of the club’s rise during that time.

While the 34-year-old has been unable to win silverware with Spurs, he has captained France to a World Cup win and followed that up by lifting the Nations League trophy on Sunday, with Les Blues coming from a goal down to beat Spain 2-1 last night.

Lloris’ performance between the sticks was crucial to Didier Deschamps’ side’s success in the Nations League, with the Frenchman particularly receiving plaudits for his impressive showing in the semi-final against Belgium last week.

Reports indicate that the Tottenham captain is expected to be handed a new contract soon, with his current deal running out at the end of the season.

Roberts admitted that he wants to see Lloris remain at Tottenham until he hangs up his boots and helps the club in a coaching capacity after his retirement.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would love for Lloris to remain at Spurs for the rest of his career and he most certainly deserves at least a two-year contract on the back of the consistency he has shown over the last couple of years. However, I would not be surprised if he wanted to see out the last few years of his career back in France.
