“I wish you all the best” – Argentine sends message of thanks to Spurs

Paulo Gazzaniga has taken to social media to thank his Tottenham team-mates and the North London faithful after sealing a loan move to Elche until the end of the season.

Gazzaniga has proven to be a useful addition since arriving at Spurs in the summer of 2017.

The Argentine has deputised well for Hugo Lloris over the last few years and his performances for the Lilywhites also saw him being capped at international level with Argentina.

However, the 29-year-old has been pushed down the pecking order since the arrival of Joe Hart in the summer, with the England international now serving as Lloris’ main understudy.

Spurs announced on deadline day that Gazzaniga had completed a loan move to Elche, who are currently sitting in 19th place in the La Liga table.

Some Spurs fans were not thrilled with the news, with many insisting that the former Saints shot-stopper was a better goalkeeper than Hart.

Gazzaniga posted the following message on Twitter after completing his transfer:

Although this is just a loan deal, it is likely that Gazzaniga has already played his final game for Spurs as I expect him to be sold in the summer. With Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart both close to their mid-thirties, we need to invest in some young goalkeeping talent at the end of the season.
