Jan Vertonghen’s cheeky response to Vinicius’ comment during Spurs medical

Tottenham fans on social media are understandably over the moon that the club have finally able to bring in a back up striker, as Spurs announced the capture of Carlos Vinicius on Friday.

The striker admitted in his first interview with Spurs TV that he cannot wait to put on the famous Lilywhite shirt and insisted that he is determined to help the club win silverware this season.

The Brazilian did share a dressing room with Jan Vertonghen at Benfica for a brief time before sealing his move to North London, and the centre-back would have certainly be a good person to fill him on Tottenham, having spent eight years at the club.

The Belgian gave his seal of approval to Tottenham’s capture of the striker on social media.

However, it looks like Vertonghen quite literally left a lasting impression on Vinicius during the short time they shared together at Benfica.

While completing his medical with Spurs, the 25-year-old joked that one of the marks on his shin was the result of a challenge from the Belgian, to which the central defender reacted with the following post:
