Pedro Porro has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, but Tottenham have already made their position clear on the Spaniard’s future.

Not many players in this Tottenham Hotspur squad can hold their heads as high as Porro after a disastrous campaign that saw Spurs finish just two points above the relegation zone.

The 26-year-old was once again among Tottenham’s most reliable performers, both in terms of availability and consistency, continuing the form he has shown since arriving from Sporting CP in 2023.

In fact, when Thomas Frank was still in charge, reports suggested he believed Porro was the only player in the squad capable of performing regularly for one of Europe’s true elite clubs.

Looking at things now, that assessment does not seem far off the mark.

We have previously reported that Pedro Porro has attracted interest from several major clubs across Europe, including Inter Milan and Manchester City.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have also identified Porro as one of the right-backs they are monitoring ahead of the summer transfer window, alongside Denzel Dumfries and Ivan Fresneda.

The Spanish giants want to strengthen at right-back after a disappointing season in the position, as incoming manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to add competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has struggled to meet expectations since arriving from Liverpool, after long-serving veteran Dani Carvajal departed the Santiago Bernabeu.

Fortunately for Spurs supporters, the latest update suggests there is little reason to panic.

Providing further context on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano explained that while Real Madrid admire Porro, Tottenham have no intention of sanctioning a sale.

“Porro is one of the players appreciated by Real Madrid, but my understanding is that Tottenham, despite the rumours we had also Manchester City, Tottenham don’t want to sell the player.

“Spurs want Pedro Porro to stay.

“Roberto De Zerbi sees Porro as one of the crucial pieces of his squad to restart the Tottenham project in the best way possible.

“So, at the moment, Tottenham are closing doors for Pedro Porro,” Romano revealed.
