Ledley King believes that Tottenham can dream big ahead of the upcoming season, and he has revealed one factor which could make Roberto De Zerbi’s job easier.
Unlike some of his predecessors, the Italian has not been shy of announcing his big ambitions ahead of the start of his first full season at the club.
De Zerbi has said that Spurs deserve to compete for the top of the Premier League and has announced that we will see a different Tottenham side to the one we did in the final seven games of last season.
The Lilywhites have backed their manager considerably in the transfer window, and one club legend believes that the squad has the tools to do something special.

While Spurs are coming off two 17th-place finishes in the Premier League, King pointed out that the majority of the current squad have tasted getting over the line and winning silverware two years ago.
The Tottenham legend believes that winning experience puts the squad in good stead and that the current team can challenge the top sides in the division next season if they are at their best.
King told The Athletic: “I think it was important to get one over the line. To have that feeling. We did it in 2008, and got to the (League Cup) final again the next season and lost on penalties. This group of players, the majority of them have done that, so I think that puts them in good stead going into any tournament. It’s an exciting prospect.
“Of course, there’s a lot of hard work to be done. There are a lot of good teams in the league thinking along the same lines. We believe we have a really talented group of players, and when they perform to their level, we can be right up there.”
King says being appointed last season could be an advantage for De Zerbi
Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle United will all have new managers at the start of next season, as will many of the smaller clubs in the Premier League.
King believes that De Zerbi has an advantage compared to many of those newcomers, as he will not be starting from scratch at Spurs, having already got his foot in the door last campaign.
The 45-year-old remarked: “We made our change last season. There are a few teams that made their change and are starting from fresh now. For Spurs, it’s just about starting the season as well as possible, trying to get some momentum off the back of last season, and then taking each game and month as it comes and seeing where you land.”
