Some sources have seemingly accused Man City of moving the goalpost when it comes to Savinho’s valuation amid talks with Tottenham.
Tottenham and Man City continue to hold talks over a deal for Savinho, with Spurs fans getting increasingly frustrated as the negotiations drag on.
According to reports, Spurs have told Man City that the Savinho deal is off unless they get a final answer before the weekend, with the Lilywhites having no intention for the negotiations to drag on into August.
The same update claimed that Tottenham have been frustrated by City’s antics regarding the winger, as the Manchester club moved the goalpost after significant progress was made on a £60m deal earlier this summer.
Tottenham sources say Man City have changed Savinho valuation
The Daily Mail have now revealed that the 22-year-old is keen to push through his proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur before the start of the season. City insist that Savinho’s valuation has not been met by the North London club.
Meanwhile, the publication claims to have heard from sources at Spurs that City’s valuation of the Brazilian has changed since the initial talks between the two clubs.
It was reported that Tottenham would have to splash £70m on Savinho last summer, and the price was similar when Spurs rekindled talks in January.
While figures of £68m were thrown around last week, The Times claimed that Spurs were working on a discounted deal closer to £60m this summer after Savinho struggled to get into Man City’s regular XI last season.
Unfortunately for Spurs, it appears the latest ‘valuation change’ reported by Mail Sport is an increase, not a decrease, which could explain the delay to any potential deal.
Additionally, City also want to bring in a replacement before greenlighting Savinho’s sale, having identified PSG’s Ibrahim Mbaye and Chelsea’s Pedro Neto as potential options to take the Tottenham target’s place in their squad.
Savinho is attempting to take matters into his own hands
The Brazil international has travelled with the City squad for their pre-season tour of Asia, which is perhaps evidence that an agreement is not close.
It has been reported over recent days that Savinho has made it clear to his employers that he wants to link up with Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
While AC Milan have also been credited with an interest in the winger, Tottenham remain at the front of the queue for Savinho at the moment.
