There has been a big update on the future of Tottenham centre-back Micky van de Ven, as the summer transfer window draws closer.
Over the last few months, Spurs Web has relayed reports suggesting that Van de Ven’s head has been turned ahead of the summer window after the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona expressed interest.
However, interest in the Dutchman is not restricted to clubs outside the Premier League, with the likes of Man United and Liverpool also eyeing a move for the Spurs defender.
Over recent months, several outlets have said that Van de Ven is seen as a ‘very attractive’ option by Liverpool, but other sources have claimed that the Reds are unlikely to vie the Tottenham man’s signature.

Liverpool will have to spend big to prise Micky van de Ven away from Tottenham
A new report in Fichajes (as relayed by FussballDaten) has now also claimed that Arne Slot’s men have identified the 26-year-old as a ‘suitable candidate’ to improve their backline.
However, it is made clear that since Van de Ven is contracted to Spurs until the summer of 2029, Tottenham are in a ‘strong negotiating position’.
Liverpool would need to spend big to land the Netherlands international, with figures as high as €95m (£82m) being currently discussed.
The report makes it clear that the North London club is unlikely to enter the negotiation table if Liverpool’s offer falls below that figure.
Van de Ven could extend his contract at Spurs after Roberto De Zerbi’s arrival
According to reports, De Zerbi’s arrival at Spurs has boosted their chances of tying down Van de Ven to a new deal this summer.
CaughtOffside claimed last week that the Tottenham defender still has not made a final decision on his future, and is currently focused on keeping the club in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, journalist Ben Jacobs said a couple of days ago that Van de Ven is ‘extremely open’ to signing a new deal at Spurs, as the centre-back is ‘very happy’ to work with De Zerbi.
