Luca Williams-Barnett continues to showcase his quality at Tottenham, and Roberto De Zerbi and his coaching staff must take notice.

Tottenham’s U21s got off to a winning start in this season’s Premier League International Cup, overcoming Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 at Stevenage on Tuesday night.

The Lilywhites were trailing at half-time after Josip Brundic’s header from a corner put the Croatian side 1-0 up in the 25th minute.

However, Spurs stormed back in the second period, scoring three goals and putting three points on the board in Group B, ahead of upcoming clashes against AC Milan, Borussia Monchengladbach and FC Nordsjaelland.

Oliver Boast and Ellis Lehane helped Tottenham’s U21S turn around the deficit before Williams-Barnett came off the bench to seal the result for his side in his first youth appearance of the season.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder featured for Spurs’ senior side in their 5-1 win over Charlton in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

However, he was left out of the squad for the third-round clash at Anfield, and the teenager sent a message to the coaching staff with his goal for the U21s, being the first to react after Tyrese Hall’s effort was saved by the goalkeeper.

Williams-Barnett could be the solution to Spurs’ left-wing problem

With Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons out injured, Mathys Tel and Omar Marmoush are Tottenham’s only fit left-wing options at the moment. Tel has had an extremely poor start to the season, and it is clear that the Frenchman is short of confidence at the moment.

De Zerbi has described Williams-Barnett as a special player, and the Italian may be tempted to give the 17-year-old an opportunity sooner rather than later.
