The Lewis family are continuing to put their money where their mouth is in demonstrating their commitment to Tottenham Hotspur.
The current Spurs owners were often criticised for their lack of involvement at the club, but they have been keen to take a bigger interest following the removal of former chairman Daniel Levy a year ago.
The Lewis family have expressed their commitment to get Tottenham challenging for silverware and to put the footballing results at the centre of their decision-making.
They certainly did that during the summer window, with Roberto De Zerbi being backed with 10 new signings for a combined fee of almost £400m, while the club also shattered their self-imposed wage ceiling.
Lewis family inject further equity into Tottenham
Tottenham’s owners have announced multiple capital injections into the club over the past 12 months, which have been timely for the club.
Spurs’ accounts show they have a cash flow problem, with the incoming equity ensuring that the Lilywhites have some financial breathing room to conduct their football operations.
Alasdair Gold has now confirmed that the Lewis family have injected a further £120m into Spurs, taking their overall recent investment to £320m over the past year.
Gold wrote on X: “Understand the Lewis family have injected another £120m into Spurs. Takes their recent investment into Tottenham to £320m over the past 12 months.”
Daniel Levy’s shares in ENIC could be further diluted
Levy still holds a share of Tottenham, through his stake in ENIC, which is the company that holds 86.91 per cent of the North London club.
However, the former Spurs chairman has already seen his stake in Spurs diluted after missing the deadline to participate in a team share issue.
With the Lewis family continuing to inject capital, Levy now faces the possibility of seeing his stake in the club he ran for 24 years continue to fall unless he stumps up some investment of his own.
