Man City will not find it easy to sign Pedro Porro from Tottenham

Amidst rumours of a potential approach from Man City for Tottenham’s Pedro Porro, a fresh report has revealed how much the Lilywhites will demand from Pep Guardiola’s side for the player.

Tottenham fell to their 19th defeat of the Premier League season against Liverpool, which is the most losses Spurs have had in a 38-game Premier League season.

When a club has a season as poor as the Lilywhites have, usually they tend to struggle to hold onto their best players and it appears like that might be the case with Tottenham this summer.

We have already seen reports that Cristian Romero wants to leave Spurs while some sources have also suggested that Rodrigo Bentancur’s future at Tottenham may be in doubt.

The latest player to be linked with a move to Man City is Pedro Porro and there has now been a big update on the right-back’s future.

What fee do Tottenham want for Pedro Porro?

A few days ago, it emerged that Man City are eyeing a move for Porro, while Bayern Munich and Juventus are also keeping an eye on the defender’s situation.

Football Insider have now also backed up City’s interest in Porro, but they say that Tottenham will drive a ‘hard bargain’ for the Spaniard this summer.

Despite the 25-year-old’s inconsistencies this season, he is said to be thought of highly at Hotspur Way, with the North Londoners expected to demand £50m for his services.

The report says that it will come as a ‘surprise’ to see Pep Guardiola’s men pushing ahead with a move for Porro, given Tottenham’s high valuation.

The outlet adds that the Manchester club will also be aware that negotiations with Daniel Levy “won’t be easy”, and may prove “too problematic”.

Should Tottenham consider cashing in on Pedro Porro?

The former Sporting Lisbon man has not had the best of seasons, but it is difficult to judge him too harshly, given that he has been part of an extremely poor Tottenham side.

Porro showed last season just how good he can be and Spurs will certainly not be in a hurry to cash in on him after one bad campaign.

With the Spaniard contracted to the club until 2028, Tottenham are in a strong bargaining position and one would expect the club to ward off the interest in the right-back.
