Journalist Ekrem Konur has reported to Sportowy that Tottenham are closely monitoring Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque, who has continued to impress since his return to Brazil.
The 21-year-old has been tipped for big things from a very young age and made a switch to Barcelona as a teenager back in 2023, but he struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou.
However, Roque has rebuilt his reputation since his return to his home country, and his displays for Palmeiras have not just attracted the attention of Spurs, but also their rivals, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle United.
Scouts from all four of these clubs have analysed the striker’s performances and have been gathering information on his fitness and physical condition to deduce whether he can handle the intensity of Premier League football.
Spurs will have to spend big to land Roque
The report claims that Atletico Madrid are also keeping an eye on Rique, with the La Liga side impressed by his dynamism and his work-rate off the ball.
So far, none of these clubs has made a formal proposal to Palmeiras, but it is suggested that the situation could accelerate over the coming months as teams finalise their plans for the January window.
Intermediaries are already working to create the conditions that could pave the way for Roque to return to Europe, but the striker will not come cheap. Palmeiras are expected to demand a fee of around €50m to €60m (£43m-£51.5m) for the 21-year-old.
