Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham and Man United are engaged in transfer battles for two different Premier League stars.
Spurs are looking to raid West Ham for the second summer in a row after poaching Mohammed Kudus from the London Stadium last summer.
Several reliable sources have revealed over the last few days that Tottenham have expressed an interest in Mateus Fernandes, who is valued at £80m by the Hammers.
Some outlets have even reported that Spurs are increasingly confident of securing the West Ham midfielder despite facing heavy competition for the 21-year-old.

Just a couple of days ago, Romano revealed that Spurs face competition from Man United and Real Madrid for Fernandes.
The journalist has now provided further information on the 21-year-old, explaining that the player is merely ‘an idea’ for Los Blancos at the moment, while the two Premier League clubs are showing more concrete interest.
When asked about the latest in the race for Fernandes, Romano stated on his YouTube channel: “There are two clubs pushing from England, and he is an idea for [Real] Madrid.
“Mateus Fernandes is Portuguese, and Jose Mourinho has indicated his name as one of the options considered in midfield. But from England, the clubs are way more aggressive financially – they want to do the deal as soon as possible.
“Man Utd are pushing in talks with the agent of the player, and they are also pushing in talks with West Ham to try and find the solution.”
Man United are also challenging Spurs for Crysencio Summerville
Fernandes is not the only West Ham player wanted by the Lilywhites, with reports indicating that Tottenham are also looking to raid their London rivals for Crysencio Summerville.
Sources indicate that Spurs are in talks with Summerville’s camp over a £50m move to N17, but Romano has now revealed that Michael Carrick’s side are also keeping a close eye on the Dutchman.
He added: “They (Man United) also have an interest in Crysencio Summerville, the winger from West Ham. Man Utd keep asking about Summerville and keep working on a deal for Fernandes.”
