Midfielder linked with Spurs admits he is aware of transfer speculation

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar has admitted that he is aware of the recent speculation surrounding his future but has insisted that it does not distract him from continuing to perform on the pitch.

Neuhaus has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of seasons, having not only established himself as one of the first names on Marco Rose’s timesheet but also breaking into the German national team squad ahead of the Euros in the summer.

The central midfielder is having an impressive campaign, having scored five goals and provided six assists so far this season (transfermarkt.com).

Sport1 revealed last week that Tottenham were competing with the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for the 23-year-old’s signature.

The speculation linking the North London club with the Gladbach midfielder has got some Spurs fans on social media extremely excited.

When asked about rumoured interest in his signature, Neuhaus told DFB: “That’s not a big issue for me at all. I can assess that very well.

“What matters to me is what happens on the pitch. Everything else doesn’t matter.

“I notice it just like everyone else. I am very interested in football and read the big newspapers.

“So of course I get that. But as I said: this is not an issue for me.”

Neuhaus would be a brilliant signing for us, especially given that he reportedly has a £35m release clause in his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach. However, at that price, there would likely be a whole host of clubs interested in snapping him in the summer.
