Giovani Dos Santos - Tottenham Hotspur News

Finally, something to cheer about.

A win!

Two goals!

Scored by attacking players!

Spurs seem to have defied all experts’ predictions with an impressive win against a top-of-the-table club powerhouse in Wolves (tongue firmly in cheek). The way we won—by controlling the ball and creating a handful of scoring opportunities—should certainly give Spurs fans hope and confidence moving forward.

But it was what I saw in the 89th minute that gave me the most hope and confidence.

Giovanni Dos Santos is back.

Well, sorta. One minute. It’s a start.

Harry’s distrust and disdain for the Mexican starlet and his supposed partying ways is well-documented. After three seasons of loan purgatory, Dos Santos looked finally set to find relatively greener pastures than the grounds at White Hart Lane—at least by Gio’s standards—as he was heavily expected to be sold.

It appears ‘arry had a change of heart.

After the summer he had—leading Mexico to CONCACAF riches (scoring this amazing goal along the way)—Giovanni Dos Santos has staked his claim for respect, playing time, and glory in a Tottenham Hotspur kit. Gio has all of the assets and versatility needed to make him a long-time favorite at White Hart Lane.

Gio is fast. That’s a no brainer. Just ask defenders in the Turkish Super League and, even more impressively, La Liga. Dos Santos has Aaron Lennon-like speed without the 100% predictability of his English counterpart.

Dos Santos differs from Lennon and many of his teammates in another key way: versatility. Dos Santos plays almost any position in front of goal, and given the injury curse that has inexplicably plagued almost anybody who slides on a Spurs shirt for the last half-dozen years, we are in desperate need of a renaissance man. It has become an axiom at White Hart Lane that, at some point in the season, we are going to be virtually bare at a position (or positions) due to injuries. Dos Santos can play Attacking Midfield, Winger, and Second Striker, and could work out a niche’ for himself by NOT being a niche’

    • BLIND IS TRUE WHEN IT COMES TO YOU AND HARRY, SUCH A TALENT NEEDS CULTIVATING WITH MATCH PAY WITH SPURS PLAYERS, A LESSON SHOULD BE LEARNED FROM THE LIKES OF LENNON,
GIVE THE LAD THE CHANCE THAT HE WAS BOUGHT FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE,

    • YOU COULD HAVE PROBABLY MADE THE SAME REMARK WHEN PLAYERS LIKE BALE, LENNON FOR TWO GOOD EXAMPLES WERE INTRODUCED TO THE FIRST TEAM, THE LADS CONFIDENCE HAS ALWAYS BEEN STIFFLED WITH THE LACK OF PLAYING TIME, HE DOES FINE FOR HIS COUNTRY OR WHEN HE IS OUT ON LOAN, GIVE THE LAD A CHANCE TO SHINE LIKE BALE AND LENNON,
      COYS,

    • Fucking hell, chill out people! You can ignore the blind bit if it upsets you. Just saying this is optimistic. Please accept my apologies for an inability to convey tone with a keyboard. Humour, Christ!

  1. not blind, he has undoubted talent and just needs a few games and a bit of confidence. This year could be massive for him in the Europa league. I think he would have been sold if we were not in Europe this year.

  2. lol. Gio, a mere boy, has ‘staked his claim for some respect’ from the 129yo Brand Tottenham Hotspur. The fact that Gio got some game seconds gave you more hope than King, Ade, Parker… lmfao.

  3. Harry would have sold him if he was willing to go to udinese: but he only wants to go to Spain. So he’s here until January.

Let’s face it: Europa is his chance. If he starts scoring, he’ll get a run… It’s that simple.

  4. THE LITTLE MEXICAN HAS BROKE NO ICE SINCE HE ARRIVED AT THE LANE , BUT WERE EVER HE HAS BEEN LOANED OUT TO ONLY PRAISE HAS ADORNED HIM HE IS A FLAIR PLAYER AND SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED WE SPURS ARE NOTED FOR CASTING ASIDE RAW TALENT AND NOT HAVING THE PATIENCE TO BRING A LAD LIKE SANTOS ON GENTLY , WE ARE A BUYING CLUB BY NATURE WE WON`T WAIT FOR STAR PLAYERS STRAGGLERS AS TO SAY SO HENCE THEY ARE CAST ASIDE , THE PAST SPURS PLAYERS THAT I HAVE SEEN OVER DECADES MAKING GREAT STRIDES WITH OTHER CLUB`S IS QUITE INCREDIABLE INFACT TYPICAL THIS ATTITUDE MUST CHANGE ITS FOR OUR (SPURS) OWN GOOD .

  5. the only person whos head isnt right is rednap's.. managers of all the other clubs must surely watch this guy throughh the gap of their joined hands (over face). Gio has more potential than Defoe does, especially over the last 5 years that defpe has ( been here).

Aaron Lennon has lost the x factor too, love the little wipper snapper, but he's dried up… bores the f*** out of me watching him play, funny enough spurs have done in general ( in the league ) for fu8**** ages.. when doe s Harry get his walking papers ? god help england and their fans when this clown rolls up for class ( wait did I mention rednapp and class in tye same sentence ?!)

    • CONSIDERING THE LENGTH OF YOUR SUPPORT, THE MEMORY LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED IF YOU RECALL THE PREVIOUS MANAGERS BEFORE HARRY CAME TO WHL, GROSS, RAMOS, ETC ETC,

  6. FUNNY THING HAPPENED AT WHL ON SUNDAY, THAT GUY REDNAP WITH THE HEAD THAT'S NOT RIGHT,
PRODUCED A TEAM PERFORMANCE THAT COULD HAVE STOOD UP TO THE BEST, AND GAVE DALGLISH A FOOTBALL LESSON, YOU SHOULD BE GOING TO THE GOONERS GAMES FOR YOUR AMUSEMENT,
    JUST FOR YOU, "SPURSINCE82,
