Roberto De Zerbi’s side face a big test today as Newcastle United become the first Premier League team to visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
While Spurs began their campaign with a poor performance and result at Brentford, the feel-good factor has returned to the club ahead of their first home league game of the season due to the events of the last few days.
Tottenham signed Savino on Tuesday, and the Brazilian had a stunning debut in the Carabao Cup the next day as the Lilywhites thrashed Charlton 5-1.
Subsequently, the club have confirmed the signing of Omar Marmoush, who could be in line to make his debut against Newcastle.
Newcastle missing four players for Tottenham clash
Tottenham are nursing several injuries at the moment, with James Maddison, Xavi Simons, Dejan Kulusevski and Wilson Odobert sidelined.
De Zerbi suggested that Mohammed Kudus could be involved against the Magpies from the bench, while Omar Marmoush is available.
Newcastle will also be depleted for the game, with journalist Lee Ryder confirming that William Osula has been ruled out.
Additionally, according to Premier Injuries, Dan Burn, Joelinton, and Tino Livramento are also on the treatment table and are currently unavailable for selection.
Will Marmoush start for Spurs against Newcastle?
Given the injuries Spurs have upfront and Savio’s outstanding cameo off the bench on Wednesday, it appears extremely likely that the Brazilian will make his full Tottenham debut tomorrow (if he does not have a knock).
The big question is whether De Zerbi will throw Omar Marmoush straight into the starting eleven after just a few days of training or name the Egyptian on the bench.
The Italian has the luxury of starting Marmoush either on the left in place of Mathys Tel or upfront in place of Dominic Solanke, who scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday.
