An Italian journalist has provided the latest on Tottenham Hotspur’s attempts to sign Fiorentina’s Nicolo Fagioli.

Yves Bissouma has hinted that his time at Tottenham is about to come to an end, while several sources have indicated that Joao Palhinha’s permanent switch to Spurs remains in doubt.

It thus comes as no surprise that De Zerbi’s men have started studying the other midfielders on the market, with one Serie A star appearing to be at the top of their wishlist.

Some outlets have said that Nicolo Fagioli is seen as a ‘perfect fit’ for Spurs’ midfield, and the Lilywhites have now been handed a boost in their pursuit of the 25-year-old.

Nicolo Fagioli is available for sale, but Tottenham have not made an offer

Corriere dello Sport journalist Ivan Zazzaroni has now insisted that the Italy international, like everyone else in the Viola squad, has a price, with no Fiorentina player considered unsellable this summer.

However, he revealed that despite keeping a close eye on Fagioli, Tottenham Hotspur are yet to substantiate their interest with an offer.

Zazzaroni told Radio Bruno (as relayed by Sport Witness): “Everyone at Fiorentina is transferable, Kean first and foremost. Fagioli is the most interesting player. And, in fact, Tottenham had been eyeing him closely, but there’s still no offer.

“I expect the transfer market to match Grosso’s demands. Fiorentina will have to align his choices with the new coach’s ideas. I expect a significant tweak to the Viola starting eleven.”

Roberto De Zerbi could play key role in Spurs’ Fagioli pursuit

It has been widely reported that De Zerbi is the driving force behind Tottenham’s interest in the Fiorentina midfielder.

In fact, Corriere Fiorentino claimed that the Spurs head coach could play a key role in convincing Fagioli to arrive at N17.

The same update claimed that the Lilywhites had moved into pole position ahead of AC Milan to land the Italy international this summer.
