Tottenham Hotspur have provided an update on Xavi Simons after he suffered an ACL injury during their club’s 1-0 win over Wolves.
Spurs continue to be riddled with injuries, with several of their key stars out with long-term issues.
Xavi Simons was the latest to be added to Tottenham’s treatment table, with the attacking midfielder expected to remain out of action for the rest of the calendar year after tearing his ACL two weeks ago.
The injury came as a major blow to the Lilywhites’ chances of staying up, but Roberto De Zerbi’s men now have their fate in their own hands after moving out of the bottom three with a win over Aston Villa.

Tottenham confirm Xavi Simons’ surgery has been successful
Xavi admitted that he was heartbroken about the injury news, with the 22-year-old not only being unable to help his Tottenham teammates but also being ruled out of the World Cup.
The Spurs midfielder was coming into his own before the injury, with the news coming as a serious setback in his efforts to establish himself as Tottenham’s creator in chief.
The club have now provided a positive update on the former Leipzig man, confirming that his surgery has been successful, with the Dutchman set to begin his long road to recovery.
Spurs wrote on X: “Surgery complete. We’ll be with you every step of the way during your recovery, Xavi Simons.”
Xavi himself also took to social media to react to his surgery, posting the following message: ‘I went missin, on a mission just perfecting my craft. Intro done. Now we rise.’
Conor Gallagher stepped up to fill the creative void left by Xavi’s injury
Many pundits were concerned that Tottenham were going to struggle to create chances and score goals after losing the Netherlands international to an injury.
However, Conor Gallagher delivered his best display in a Spurs shirt against Aston Villa after De Zerbi played him as the most advanced of his three midfielders.
Additionally, James Maddison is now nearing a return after being an unused substitute in Tottenham’s last three matches. It thus appears that Spurs may not miss Xavi as much as many thought.
