Tottenham Hotspur are facing plenty of competition for Martin Baturina on the back of the Croat’s impressive displays at the World Cup.
While Spurs have strengthened the middle of the park with the big-money signings of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, De Zerbi may be left short in the eight/ten role.
Lucas Bergvall continues to be linked with a move away from Tottenham, while reports indicate that Xavi Simons is not expected to be fit until the end of 2026.
That perhaps explains why Spurs are alleged to have expressed interest in Baturina, who has further enhanced his reputation at the World Cup following a fine season with Como.

Como have already rejected an offer for Tottenham target Martin Baturina
Monday’s edition of 24 Sata (as relayed by Sport Witness) claims that many Croatian players are ‘hot commodities’ on the market after impressing on the biggest stage this summer, none more so than Baturina.
The 22-year-old was already on the radar of a few top sides before the World Cup, with the newspaper stating that ‘interest is increasing’ in the attacking midfielder and that ‘offers are pouring in’.
The outlet claims that Como’s asking price for Baturina has ‘risen drastically’ over the last few weeks.
In fact, it is revealed that the Serie A side have already turned down an offer of around €55m (£47m) for their star midfielder from an unnamed Premier League side.
Como’s new asking price for Baturina revealed
24 Sata say that despite the rejected offer, the likes of Spurs, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich are continuing to show ‘keen interest’ in the Croat.
The Premier League duo and the Bundesliga giants have all contacted Como to figure out the feasibility of the operation. It is revealed that the Italian club have sent the three clubs a clear message: ‘offer €80m (£68.3m) and he’s yours’.
Spurs have already shelled out £237m on six new players this summer, which means that their spending this window could breach £300m if they secure a deal for the Como midfielder.
