‘One conversation’ – Fabrizio Romano provides update on Christian Eriksen’s future

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United and Brentford are still waiting for a final answer from Christian Eriksen while Tottenham are focused on other targets.

It was reported earlier this month that Spurs, United and Brentford were all battling it out for Eriksen, who is currently a free agent (ESPN).

However, this week, there was a major twist in the transfer saga, with Antonio Conte’s men seemingly no longer in the running for the Dane’s signature.

The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick revealed on Monday that Spurs have not held formal talks with Eriksen’s agent while Football.London’ Alasdair Gold claimed that Tottenham are downplaying the possibility of the midfielder returning to the club.

The Sun journalist Tom Barclay stated on Tuesday that the reason Spurs are no longer keen on the 30-year-old is that Conte is happy with his current options in the midfield.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Spurs have their attention elsewhere and suggested that Eriksen is yet to decide between a move to United or a return to Brentford.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite all the reports linking Eriksen with a return to Spurs over recent months, I was never convinced that the move was going to happen. The Dane would have wanted regular game time and that was never likely to happen at Spurs as he does not naturally fit into Conte’s preferred 3-4-3 formation.
