Supercomputer predicts how likely Tottenham are to beat Leeds in vital relegation fixture

Opta’s Supercomputer has predicted the chances of Tottenham Hotspur coming away with a vital win at home to Leeds United on Monday.

Spurs made significant strides in their quest for league safety with their 2-1 victory away at Aston Villa last week, but with West Ham still right on their heels, only 2 points behind, the job is far from over.

Their upcoming home game against Leeds United will be a great opportunity to extend their advantage of their East End rivals, who are still awaiting a visit from league frontrunners Arsenal. Depending on the results across London, West Ham could find themselves 5 points adrift by the conclusion of this round of fixtures.

Spurs should not be expecting an easy game, however. With 11 points from their last 5 fixtures, the northern club is in second-best form in the league.

The Lilywhites’ chances to beat Leeds stand at 51.5%, and conversely, has Leeds winning at 26.5%.

The Supercomputer deems a draw as the least likely result at 22%, despite Leeds having the second most draws in the league (13).

What can Spurs expect from an overperforming Leeds side?

Both Tottenham and Leeds will come into the game full of confidence. While Spurs begin to find their feet under Roberto De Zerbi, with both results and underlying numbers trending in a positive direction, Leeds have been a consistently dangerous side for the entirety of the season.

Daniel Farke’s men have recently all but secured Premier League survival with a convincing 3-1 win over relegated Burnley, as their 43 points have them comfortably sitting at 14th.

Perhaps somewhat worryingly for Tottenham, the underlying numbers suggest Leeds should actually be higher up the table, and according to Fotmob, are underperforming their points total by 9 points.
