Roberto De Zerbi has been told that he has to bring two of his senior players into his starting line-up against Everton as Tottenham go in search of their league win of the season.
De Zerbi stressed the positives following his side’s 0-0 draw at the City Ground, and there were undeniably some good signs, including Tottenham’s defensive solidity and their intensity.
However, the concern for many Spurs fans is the team’s lack of cutting edge in the final third, with Tottenham not having scored yet in six halves of football.
Their poor start to the season has made the clash against Everton at home a must-win game, and De Zerbi has now been called on to change his attack.

Gabby Agbonlahor says Dominic Solanke needs to start for Tottenham against Everton
Dominic Solanke is still waiting for his first start of the campaign, with Richarlison having started against Brentford, and new signing Omar Marmoush against Newcastle and Forest.
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted that there are simply not enough goals in this Tottenham frontline and believes that Solanke needs to lead the line on Saturday.
When asked if Spurs had shown any sign of improvement in Nottingham, the former Aston Villa man told talkSPORT Breakfast: “No. Are you surprised, though? Savio – 31 appearances in the Premier League and Champions League last season, one goal, two assists. Marmoush – three goals in 29 appearances in the Premier League and Champions League last season.
“Don’t get me started on Tel, after that free kick a couple of weeks ago [against Newcastle]. They haven’t got the quality. It’s alright spending this big money on Manchester City rejects who aren’t goalscorers. What do you expect? Solanke has to start in the game.”
Roberto De Zerbi urged to bring James Maddison into his team
James Maddison has missed the last two matches with a minor shoulder injury after coming on as a substitute in the club’s 3-0 loss at Brentford.
While De Zerbi praised Conor Gallagher for his battling display at the City Ground, Agbonlahor believes Spurs need Maddison’s creativity.
The pundit added: “They need Maddison back in there. They need Solanke leading the line, and then two wingers off them. But it’s a big worry to not score yet.”
