Ramon Vega believes that the time has come for Daniel Levy and ENIC to put themselves out of their misery by selling Tottenham to ambitious investors who have the resources to ensure that the club competes for trophies on a regular basis.
While the discontent among Spurs fans towards the owners had been steadily building ever since Mauricio Pochettino left six years ago, it appears to have reached a breaking point this term.
We have already seen multiple huge protests outside the stadium this season, with Spurs fans marching in the thousands, calling for Levy and ENIC to leave.
It is an open secret that Tottenham are looking for outside investment, but the club have not been able to attract investors so far.
Some sources have suggested that Daniel Levy’s insistence on retaining control has put off potential investors, while some pundits have suggested that ENIC’s nearly £4 billion valuation of Tottenham is simply too high.

Ramon Vega urges Daniel Levy to sell Tottenham to the right people
Ramon Vega is not as absolute in his criticism of Levy, praising the work that the Spurs chairman has done to build the club off the pitch.
The former Tottenham Hotspur defender insisted that the 63-year-old will be as desperate as anyone to see the Lilywhites win silverware, but after repeatedly failing to deliver over the last two-and-a-half decades, he believes that the time has come for the current owners to cash in.
However, Vega insisted the Tottenham chairman has the responsibility to find the right buyer who will have the club’s best interest at heart rather than just selling to the highest bidder.
When asked what he thinks of the work that Levy has done at the club, the 53-year-old exclusively told Spurs Web: “Listen, I have all the respect for Daniel Levy as a person. As an owner, he’s responsible along with the other shareholders to drive this business. Of course, at the same time, he’s been criticised, and I have no issues with Levy whatsoever.
“I actually respect him massively for what he’s doing outside of football, and I feel sorry for him a little bit because deep down, of course, he wants to win something.
“I would be very surprised if he’s putting all this time effort and investment and making sure the business is headed in the right direction just to not want to win something with Spurs. He needs to look in the mirror and analyse certain mistakes and why Spurs aren’t winning anything, why Spurs can’t end that trophy drought.
“He needs to ask himself that and I think the criticism he’s facing is normal. If you look at Man United, they’re going in the same direction as Spurs, but Spurs is like over 20 years ago, and I have no issues calling it out.
“I played for Spurs, I proudly won a cup for them and did my duty for the club. If I say something, it’s because I mean it. I’m not going to criticise somebody just for the sake of saying something.
“They have to look into potentially moving on and selling the club because that might be a solution that will potentially take away a little bit of the pain that Daniel Levy and the board are suffering, cash in and earn quite a lot of money due to having built up a valuable business, or they could bring in an outsider to invest with them.
“The question is, who’s going to manage that? If somebody invests in Spurs, they’ll want to have a certain control, and if Levy is still there, he’ll want to control it. So from my point of view, I would suggest that if he can sell the club, it would be fantastic. A good investor who really has ambitions to build to the next level from a football point of view, that’s also important.
“You don’t just want to sell to anyone and cash in. Daniel Levy has responsibility and can’t just sell it and walk away…he needs to sell it to somebody who will take the club to the next level. The second issue is most likely the valuation of the club. We’re talking not a small amount of money but most likely billions of pounds…I’ll tell you right now, if I had the billions, I might consider buying it.”

Levy and ENIC have nowhere to hide from the Spurs fans
When Tottenham had flattered to deceive in previous seasons, the managers often took the brunt of the criticism, and in a way, Levy and the club’s owners were able to hide behind that.
However, things have shifted considerably over the last 12 months, with many mainstream pundits now regularly calling out Levy’s missteps.
The anger of the fan base has also reached boiling point, and the owners will not get a clean slate just by getting rid of another manager.
With reports now indicating that Tottenham will have to sell players before they can buy this summer, the pressure on ENIC to sell the club will only continue to grow over the coming months.
