Rate the Players: PSV Eindhoven 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have once again failed to win a match in this season’s Champions League after shooting themselves in the foot for the third game in a row.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side went 1-0 down after 30 minutes when a piece of horror defending from Toby Alderweireld led to PSV’s Hirving Lozano’s deflected shot looping over the head of Hugo Lloris into the net behind him.

Davinson Sanchez unfairly had a goal disallowed minutes later, but they did pull level on 39 minutes after some beautiful link up play led to Lucas Moura leveling.

Spurs went ahead in the second half after Harry Kane nodded in Christian Eriksen’s cross only for the game to turn on its head 11 minutes from time.

Hugo Lloris was once again guilty of poor decision making and his foul on Lozano outside the penalty area saw him shown a straight red card by the referee.

PSV equalised on 88 minutes through former Newcastle flip Luuk de Jong to add more late misery to our European hopes.

Tottenham now effectively need to win their final three games to have any chance of progressing to the knockout stages.
