Real Madrid have made their stance clear on the future of teenage starlet Franco Mastantuono after Tottenham submitted a sizeable offer for the winger.
While Roberto De Zerbi’s focus at the moment will be on keeping Spurs in the Premier League, the Italian will be aware that the squad needs significant reinforcements in the summer if the club wants to get back towards the part of the table where they belong.
The wide areas, in particular, look in need of strengthening, with Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert and Mohammed Kudus all currently out with long-term injuries.
It has now emerged that the Lilywhites have pressed forward with a move for a highly-rated Real Madrid teenager ahead of the summer window.

Real Madrid turn down Tottenham’s opening offer for Franco Mastantuono
Fichajes have now claimed that Tottenham have ‘entered the fray with force’ to sign Madrid starlet Franco Mastantuono, who has impressed for Los Blancos this season.
The report says that Spurs are looking for young talent with attacking flair, and the 18-year-old ‘fits that profile perfectly’.
In fact, it is revealed that an offer of €45m (£39m) has already been submitted by Roberto De Zerbi’s men for Mastantuono.
However, Real Madrid have deemed the bid to be ‘insufficient’ and have made it clear that the Argentine winger will not be sold for the kind of conditions in Tottenham’s proposal.
How much do Spurs need to pay to land Mastantuono?
The left-footed attacker, who can play on the right or as an attacking midfielder, is rated highly at Santiago Bernabeu, with the La Liga giants not wanting to repeat their past mistakes of letting their prospects leave.
However, Madrid have not ruled out a temporary loan move for Mastantuono or any other formula that allows them to maintain control over the player’s future.
It is revealed that Alvaro Arbeloa’s side would be willing to reconsider their stance and sell the Argentina international if they receive an offer of €70m (£60.7m).
While Tottenham are ‘pushing hard’ to land Mastantuono, it is suggested that the price tag could be ‘a limiting factor’ for the North London club.
