Report explains why Mauricio Pochettino wants Ndombele at PSG

Mauricio Pochettino has urged Paris Saint-Germain to sign Tanguy Ndombele as he believes the Tottenham midfielder can offer a unique dynamic to his squad, according to RMC Sport (26/01/22, 9:44am CET).

The Athletic reported last week that PSG have shown an interest in taking Ndombele to the Parc des Princes on loan, with Pochettino keen on reuniting with the Frenchman he signed while at Tottenham during the summer of 2019.

It has since emerged that a move to Paris has been given the green light with the Ligue 1 giants electing to cover the full salary over the loan period, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is still keen to secure a permanent sale instead (Get French Football News).

RMC Sport claim that Pochettino is still keen on securing a deal for Ndombele this month and has told PSG chiefs to ramp up their efforts to land the 25-year-old.

The report states the Argentine coach believes Ndombele can bring a different element to his squad that he currently does not have at his disposal in midfield which makes the move a ‘priority’.

It adds that Pochettino would like to get him through the door this month so that he is able to feature in PSG’s clash against Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 tie.

Spurs Web Opinion

Pochettino never really got to use Ndombele properly as he had arrived at the back end of his Spurs tenure. Ndombele will likely thrive for PSG as he is the kind of profile that suits the club, while Pochettino will be able to properly experiment with his style of play.
