Report: Mourinho gives green light to ship out two midfielders following Hojbjerg arrival

Football Insider claim that Jose Mourinho has given the green light for Oliver Skipp and Jamie Bowden to be set out on loan after Tottenham sealed the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.

Hojbjerg’s arrival has been met with enthusiasm by some Spurs fans on social media, with the club’s need of a combative ball-winner in midfield being clear for all to see.

Football Insider report the Dane’s arrival has now paved the way for Skipp and Bowden to both leave the club temporarily.

It is said that Mourinho believes that the pair have outgrown youth football and need regular senior match experience to help continue their development.

The report claims that Spurs have been inundated with offers for both Skipp and Bowden.

Previous reports have indicated that Fulham are interested in signing Skipp on a loan deal after winning promotion to the Premier League (Evening Standard).

Meanwhile, Bowden is expected to spend the 2020/21 campaign at either a Championship or a League One club.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am all for loaning out Skipp as I cannot see him getting enough game time for us next season. The last thing the youngster needs is to spend his third consecutive season on the fringes of the first-team, without getting too much competitive action under his belt. A loan move to a Championship club would be ideal for the 19-year-old.
