Report: Spurs fan favourite could start on bench against Manchester United

Lucas Moura is expected to be the man who misses out in the starting eleven when Spurs return to Premier League action, according to Football Insider.

The North Londoners welcome Manchester United to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Friday as both sides get their domestic campaigns back underway.

Due to the postponement of the Premier League season, Jose Mourinho can now call upon Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn who have all recovered from their injuries (Sky Sports).

And it looks like it is going to be Lucas Moura who is set to miss out on the starting XI.

On Thursday, Dele Alli was handed a one-match ban following a controversial Snapchat video which was deemed as mocking an Asian man amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Although Mourinho’s selection will be made upon the fitness levels of the players, the report insists it is Kane, Son and Bergwijn who are intended to start against United.

Spurs Web Opinion

I’m sure there are many Spurs fans who want to see Bergwijn start. He has made an impressive start to life in N17 with ‘that’ goal against Manchester City and a goal against Wolves. It always feels like Lucas Moura is the one left out, however, there are still plenty of games to go and I’m sure he will get his chance.
