Report: Spurs receive potential boost with Man Utd player set to leave this summer

Tottenham Hotspur have received a potential boost in their search for a new goalkeeper after Dean Henderson was tipped to leave Manchester United, according to Football Insider.

Henderson has spent the season on loan at Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest, however, he has suffered an injury-hit campaign and has not featured for Steve Cooper’s side since the 2-0 victory over Leicester City on January 14.

The 26-year-old has seen former PSG keeper Keylor Navas take his place between the posts and was hoping to return before the end of the season only to sustain a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury (Telegraph).

Tottenham are reported to be monitoring long-term replacements for Hugo Lloris, who is currently also out injured with Fraser Forster having started the last two matches against Manchester United and Liverpool (Football.London).

The North Londoners are said to have included Henderson on their four-man shortlist to replace the World Cup winner (Football Insider).

The report claims that Henderson is set to leave Old Trafford when he returns this summer with United in talks over extending De Gea’s contract.

However, Henderson wants to play regularly to boost his England hopes.

Henderson is a good shot-stopper and Tottenham’s failure to land Champions League football once again is going to impact their potential transfer targets this summer.

Whether United would be prepared to do business with Spurs if Daniel Levy refuses to play ball over any potential exit to Old Trafford for Harry Kane remains to be seen.
