Report: Spurs target said to be desperate to leave current club as early as January

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including Barcelona midfield man, Carles Alena.

It was reported last month that Mauricio Pochettino wanted to seal a deal for Alena as a potential replacement for the contract rebel, Christian Eriksen.

However, with a change of manager and another month passed, are Spurs still an option for the 21-year-old? AS have reported yes.

Alena is said to now be looking for a way out of Barcelona after extremely limited game time so far this season, while also losing his number 21 shirt to new signing Frenkie de Jong.

Carles was given 45 minutes in the very first game of the season for Barca, but has yet to appear in any competition since. In fact, he has only made the bench six times out of the 18 other matches this season (TransferMarkt).

With Alena desperate to leave Barca, should Spurs swoop in and snap him up?
