Report: West Ham now shock contenders to rival Spurs for £70m-rated target

Last week, it was reported that Tottenham were already in contact with the agent of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli over a potential deal.

The report from Corriere del Mezzogiorno claimed that both Chelsea and Tottenham were interested and had made contact over a potential £100m deal.

There has now been another development in the story, with the Express having claimed that West Ham United are also now keen on putting their name in the hat.

This latest report now says that Napoli value the 28-year-old at £70m as he still has three and a half years left on his current contract in Italy. Manchester City are also named as potential competition for the defender.

Even £70m would shatter Tottenham’s transfer record of £53.8m for Tanguy Ndombele back in the summer transfer market (BBC).

However, they are in need of a new central defender as they are struggling for clean sheets and Jan Vertonghen could be leaving on a free in the summer.
