Earlier we told of the latest news on Malaga striker Salomon Rondon, who after being linked with a move to Tottenham is reportedly now bound for Rubin Kazan after the Russian club put in a higher bid than Spurs.

In a further update, Malaga have released a statement on the club’s official website, stating Rondon would not be joining the teams pre-season tour of Italy:

“The player remained in the capital of the Costa del Sol because he is immersed in negotiations after an offer was received in the offices of the Rosaleda stadium”.

The statement did not confirm who Rondon and his representatives are in negotiations with; meaning a move to Tottenham may not be dead in the water yet.
