Savinho to Tottenham transfer update: Deal not close as Spurs still yet to make first move

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Savinho has not yet gone away, but a deal to bring the Man City winger to North London is not close at the moment.

Reports over recent days have claimed that Spurs and City remain in talks over the winger, and that a deal to take the player to N17 is still very much on.

This is despite assertions from the Brazilian media last week that Tottenham and Man City do not agree on Savinho’s valuation and the Lilywhites want the Manchester club to reduce their asking price.

The 22-year-old himself has dropped some big hints that he may be joining Spurs, and his club are aware of what he wants to do.

Man City are aware that Savinho is keen to join Tottenham

Sky Sports have revealed on their live transfer blog that the former Girona man is keen to exit the Etihad Stadium before the new campaign gets underway.

Savinho wants to complete a move to North London after Tottenham expressed an interest, and Enzo Maresca’s men are aware of the player’s intentions.

However, it is made clear that City are not in a position to act at the moment as no official offer has arrived from Spurs for the player.

This is expected to change, with the website confident that Tottenham will make a bid for the Brazilian, with a new left-winger being a priority for the Lilywhites.

It is made clear that Savinho will not come cheap after signing a new contract last summer, and City want to be assured of a replacement before greenlighting his move to N17.

Savinho is part of Man City’s pre-season tour

City have confirmed their 28-man squad for their pre-season tour of Asia, and the Tottenham target is part of it, which perhaps suggests that a transfer is not expected imminently.

Sky Sports say that Savinho is trying to remain ‘patient and professional’, and wants to respect the club which bought him to the Premier League.

However, the Brazil international remains ‘intrigued’ by a move to Spurs and wants to play for Roberto De Zerbi.
