The NFL have just made a huge announcement about their future plans, and the development could come as a big boost to Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the home of NFL in the UK
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was designed with the idea of being the home of the NFL in the UK, and that is exactly what the venue has become.
The stadium, which is designed with a retractable pitch, hosts two NFL games every season and that is set to continue for the foreseeable future.
The NFL has now made a big announcement about its expansion and Tottenham could be perfectly placed to take advantage.
Could Tottenham’s stadium host more NFL matches?
Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL, revealed recently that the competition is planning to take eight more matches overseas, taking the total number in the International Series to 16.
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire says that Spurs may be huge beneficiaries, with the club’s coffers set to be boosted significantly if the venue is allowed to host more matches.
Maguire told TBR Football: “As far as Spurs are concerned, they are the NFL’s first choice. They have a state-of-the-art stadium that they future-proofed when they designed it. It has been created to empty the wallets of fans.
“And don’t forget, NFL fans are used to paying premium prices. I imagine Spurs will be in consideration. I think this will be a major beneficiary, especially combined with the council’s decision to increase the number of events they are allowed to hold.
“Spurs are looking for the most lucrative options to fill those slots and the NFL is clearly one. Spurs are in prime position to take advantage of the NFL expansion.”

Daniel Levy’s NFL dream
The NFL’s decision to expand their International Series will undoubtedly delight Levy and the Tottenham hierarchy.
The Spurs chairman‘s ultimate dream might be to have an NFL franchise in London which is based in the Spurs’ 62,850-capacity venue. Levy will see the NFL’s latest step as a move in that direction.
