Spurs have £40m bid for Inter Milan midfielder rejected, according to reports

According to Sportske Novosti, Inter Milan have rejected a bid believed to be worth £40m from Tottenham Hotspur for midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

Inter have been linked with Spurs’ Mousa Dembele throughout this transfer window but the Belgian midfielder is believed to be holding out for a mega-money move to China next year.

Most Spurs fans have hoped Daniel Levy could bring in a new central midfielder but so far Spurs remain the only club not to sign anyone this summer.

The Croatian midfielder joined Inter in 2015 and has made over 100 appearances, netting 13 times.

25-year-old Brovovic is not the only Croatian midfielder to be linked with a move to Spurs – Mateo Kovacic has also been rumoured to be on Daniel Levy’s wishlist after going on strike to force a move away from Real Madrid.

Just over two days remain until the end of this summer’s transfer window and Spurs fans will be hoping to see at least one new arrival before 5 pm on Thursday afternoon.

Spurs fans, would you welcome Brozovik to north London or would you rather see Jack Grealish/Kovacic wear lilywhite?
