Spurs insider delivers positive update on Micky van de Ven’s hamstring injury

Reliable Tottenham Hotspur insider Paul O’Keefe has revealed that Micky van de Ven’s hamstring injury is not expected to keep him out for a long period of time.

The defender was named in Ange Postecoglou‘s starting eleven in Tottenham’s 4-0 win at Aston Villa on Sunday and was arguably the standout player in the first half.

Van de Ven showcased his pace once again after Villa forward Ollie Watkins managed to nick a header in front of Cristian Romero to break in behind the Spurs defence only for the Dutchman to eat up the ground and nullify the opportunity.

In the opening moments of the second half, van de Ven went to ground and received medical treatment on his hamstring and was forced to be replaced by January arrival Radu Dragusin.

Good news for Spurs on Micky van de Ven’s hamstring injury

O’Keefe has taken to the social media platform X to provide a positive update on how long Tottenham face without the services of the former Wolfsburg player.

He wrote: “Current expectation is that Micky van de Ven hamstring should not be a lengthy one. Probably miss Fulham and back after the international break is the hope.”

Tottenham head to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Saturday evening looking to keep their push for a Champions League place on track having closed the gap on Villa to just two points.

Van de Ven is expected to miss the Netherlands’ international friendly double header against Scotland and Germany and could be in contention for the visit of Luton Town to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on March 30th.

Tottenham will certainly not be looking to rush Van de Ven back to action given the nature of the injury and respectively, with the North Londoners facing Luton after the international break they could give him extra time to recover given how impressive Radu Dragusin was at Villa Park.
