Assistant manager Cristian Stellini has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Marseille press conference from the south of France this evening.
Stellini has stepped up to handle the questions from the media in place of Antonio Conte, who serves a one-match suspension tomorrow following his red card in the dying embers of the 1-1 draw at home to Sporting CP.
Tottenham trained at Hotspur Way this morning before jetting off to France ahead of tomorrow’s crunch Champions League fixture, which will help to decide the fate of Group D.
Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against Igor Tudor’s side.
The north Londoners come into the fixture with a win under their belt following their last gasp victory at Bournemouth on Saturday, while Marseille threw away a 2-0 lead only to be held to a draw at Strasbourg.
Spurs will be looking to avoid defeat to book their place in the last sixteen of the competition and face the risk of a defeat combined with Eintracht Frankfurt or Sporting CP securing three points in the other Group D fixture, Conte’s side would have to settle for Europa League football.
