Three Tottenham Hotspur players are set to return to first‑team action this week following deep runs at the Summer World Cup.
The Premier League is not too far away from kicking off, with 12 days left before Tottenham Hotspur play their first match of the season on August 22, 2026.
A lot of work has been done already in pre-season, with Spurs having already played six friendly encounters as De Zerbi looks to get his players up to speed with his tactics and improve their fitness.
However, while several first-team regulars and academy stars have been a part of the summer camp, others have missed out so far due to their World Cup involvement.

Tottenham set to welcome back Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero and Djed Spence
Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero and Djed Spence all went deep into the World Cup earlier this summer, with Porro lifting the trophy, Romero reaching the final and Spence finishing third.
Following their deep run in the competition, the trio were handed a three-week break starting from July 18. Their extended break is now set to end, with football.london revealing that Porro, Romero and Spence are set to return to Tottenham training this week.
Spurs have a friendly encounter against Hoffenheim on Saturday this week, and it remains to be seen if any will be involved.
Romero and Spence futures remain uncertain
Porro had a stellar World Cup campaign with Spain and was included in the FIFA World Cup Team of the Season after his impressive displays.
The Spaniard also recently put pen to paper to extend his stay in N17 and is expected to play a significant role for Tottenham this season.
Romero and Spence, however, have uncertain futures. Romero has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid this summer, with Inter Milan and Arsenal also interested.
While Spence has been linked with a move within the Premier League, with Liverpool said to be showing interest.
Nevertheless, their return to the squad would certainly be a big boost for De Zerbi, who is set to have a week with the trio before the season kicks off next week.
