Tottenham ask for information on Koni De Winter ahead of transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur have enquired about the availability of a Belgian international centre-back, but they could potentially face competition from two of their Premier League rivals as well as from several big clubs across Europe for the player’s signature.

Spurs raided Genoa for Radu Dragusin back in January of last year, and the Romanian has had a few ups and downs at the club so far and is still trying to fully find his feet in the Premier League.

It has now emerged that Tottenham are considering securing another one of the Serie A club’s bright young defensive prospects.

The player in question is centre-back, Koni De Winter, who like Dragusin, has excelled at Stadio Luigi Ferraris following a switch from Juventus.

Tottenham have asked for information about Koni De Winter

This update comes from Tuttomercatoweb who say that the defender’s list of admirers is growing in light of his impressive displays this season, which have even seen him break into the Belgian national side.

The outlet claims that Spurs have ‘asked for information’ about De Winter, who even though a central defender by trade, has also filled in at right-back and even occasionally featured as a number six.

The Lilywhites are joined in the race for the 22-year-old by Manchester United and West Ham United, who have also enquired about him ahead of the summer.

Additionally, Inter Milan are also ‘pressing’ to sign the centre-back alongside Roma and Italy while Porto and two unnamed Bundesliga clubs are also keeping tabs on the youngster.

Genoa’s and De Winter’s transfer stance revealed

The report reveals that Genoa are open to cashing in on the player and have slapped a €30m (£25.2m) price tag on him ahead of the summer.

De Winter wants to make a step up to a bigger club in the summer and the defender has allegedly made it clear that he will give priority to what he sees as the most ambitious project he is presented with.

The publication adds that with contacts already underway, Genoa are ‘very much ready to start the auction’ for the former Juventus man.
