A winger who only arrived at Tottenham Hotspur last year has completed his third different loan move away from the club.
Spurs have been ruthless in the way they have operated in the transfer market this summer, having moved on youngsters such as Will Lankshear, Alfie Devine, Tynan Thompson and Luka Vuskovic permanently, rather than loaning them out.
Ashley Phillips may have also completed a £20m switch to Middlesbrough if not for issues with his medical, after the Lilywhites agreed a fee with the Championship club for the centre-back.
However, rather than cashing in on a 20-year-old winger, Spurs have decided to loan him out to a top-flight European club so that he can continue his development.
Tottenham starlet Yang Min-hyeok joins KVC Westerlo on loan
Spurs have now confirmed that Yang Min-hyeok has completed a season-long loan move to Belgian Pro League side KVC Westerlo.
The South Korean was extremely impressive at Portsmouth during the first half of last season, with Tottenham then taking the decision to cut short his loan at Fratton Park in January and send him to Coventry City.
That proved to be a poor decision, with Yang struggling to get minutes for last season’s Championship title winners in the second half of last campaign.
The winger will now get a taste of top-flight football for the first time as he is set to link up with Westerlo, who finished the Belgian Pro League in 9th place last season.
Tottenham have a good modern relationship with Westerlo, having previously loaned out Luka Vuskovic and Alfie Devine to the club during the 2024-25 season.
Vuskovic’s development at Westerlo propelled him onto a fantastic loan at Hamburg, and an eventual £50m transfer for Tottenham, while Alfie Devine also left for £6m this summer.
Another Spurs winger is expected to leave on loan
Yang will not be the only young wide player to leave the North London club on loan before the transfer window closes.
Mikey Moore is reportedly waiting for a green light from Tottenham to complete a loan move to Köln, on the back of his exceptional campaign at Rangers last term.
However, several other clubs across Europe are still circling over Moore, alive to any opportunity to potentially hijack the deal.
