Tottenham contacted 44-year-old who is now favourite for Arsenal job

Tottenham Hotspur allegedly made a move for a German football director, who is now one of the leading candidates to take over as the sporting director of their North London rivals, Arsenal.

Johan Lange was appointed as Tottenham’s sporting director back in 2023, with the Dane having seemingly forged a very good relationship with Ange Postecoglou.

Lange took over from Fabio Paratici, who was forced to resign from his Tottenham role as managing director of football after his alleged involvement in Juventus’ capital gains scandal.

It has now emerged that Tottenham also recently contacted another director, who has had plenty of success in the Bundesliga.

Tottenham made contact with Markus Krosche

According to Monday’s edition of Bild (as relayed by Sport Witness), Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche has been considered for the role by Spurs in recent times.

The report primarily covers Arsenal’s interest in Krosche, who is installed as the favourite to replace Edu Gaspar after he stepped down from his post at the Emirates last November.

While reporting on the Gunners’ pursuit of the 44-year-old, the outlet reveals that he has been contacted by both Spurs and Liverpool in the past, but the update does not say when those contacts were made.

The outlet adds that Krosche is also on AC Milan’s radar as the Rossoneri look to bring a new sporting director through the door.

Tottenham may receive a Fabio Paratici boost

Spurs fans should be hoping that the Serie A club beat Arsenal to the signature of Krosche, as that could have a direct impact on the Lilywhites.

This is because it has emerged over recent days that Fabio Paratici is one of the top candidates to take over as Milan’s new sporting director.

If the Italian club manage to get Paratici, that will mean that his consultancy role with Spurs will likely have to come to an end.
