Roberto De Zerbi could be looking towards Serie A to strengthen the Tottenham forward line ahead of his first full season in charge.
De Zerbi has already identified the final third as one area Tottenham can improve next season, and that would undoubtedly involve dipping into the transfer market.
Randal Kolo Muani’s difficult loan spell at Spurs is now over, and reports continue to suggest that Richarlison could also be on his way out of the North London club.
It has now emerged that the Lilywhites have reignited their interest in a centre-forward they missed out on last summer.

Tottenham looking to poach Santiago Gimenez from AC Milan
Santiago Gimenez was heavily linked with a move to Spurs last year, but it was AC Milan who won the race for the Mexican international.
The Rossoneri paid £30m to secure the striker from Feyenoord, but things have not gone to plan for the 25-year-old in his debut Serie A season.
Gimenez had an injury-hit campaign at the San Siro, and in the end, managed just one league goal in 16 appearances.
Despite his struggles in Italy, Mexico’s TUDN claims that Tottenham have expressed an interest in the striker as they look to add firepower to their frontline.
The report claims Gimenez could seek an exit from Milan and move to the Premier League club in search of regular game time and a ‘more prominent role’ in the team.
Is Gimenez good enough for Spurs?
De Zerbi has described Solanke as one of the best strikers in the Premier League, which makes it clear that the England international is staying put.
Tottenham need to sign a top-class number nine to compete with the former Bournemouth man, and there is no evidence to suggest that Gimenez is of the required level despite his brilliant goal record in the Eredivisie.
One can argue that Spurs may be better off holding onto Richarlison than signing the Mexican international.
