Tottenham fans have reacted to the latest discussion around Richarlison and why he won’t be involved in the Carabao Cup tie against Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur are now focused on the Carabao Cup as they gear up to take on Liverpool in round three of the competition.

For Roberto De Zerbi, the hope will be that a change of competition helps his side find some rhythm, given Spurs’ Premier League struggles, where they remain without a win or a goal.

Liverpool will be no easy task, but the Spurs boss is hoping that a rotated Tottenham squad is able to keep the levels up and help Spurs secure qualification to the next round.

Tottenham fans react to Richarlison’s latest social media comments

While De Zerbi is looking to rotate his side, he has also confirmed that there will be no place for Richarlison still. The Brazilian was left out of Spurs’ Premier League squad after he failed to secure a move away from north London during the summer transfer window.

However, Richarlison is eligible to play in the League Cup, but De Zerbi has made it clear that he will not be picking the Brazilian forward.

Following the manager’s decision, Richarlison has since taken to social media to respond, simply asking “why?” His comments have now made their way to Spurs fans, who have taken to social media platform X to give their reaction.

The fans commented:

Spurs remain equipped to cope without Richarlison

While Tottenham do have at least six players set to miss out on Tuesday due to injury, they remain capable of getting by without Richarlison.

At the moment, Dominic Solanke, Omar Marmoush and Mathys Tel are capable of filling in the number nine position against Liverpool.

Spurs need their forwards to get into a rhythm and find the back of the net soon, and it is only right that focus is placed on those whose future at the club is certain.

De Zerbi already made it clear he tried to get Richarlison to stay at Spurs in the summer, but the forward was insistent on leaving.

Richarlison has less than a year left on his current deal, which makes the coming months rather interesting as he looks to get his future sorted.
