Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer has delivered his score prediction for Tottenham’s clash with Newcastle ahead of Saturday’s meeting.
Tottenham Hotspur need to put in a better display this weekend after their 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Brentford in matchweek one of the Premier League.
Spurs sit in 19th place in the Premier League table and, after being involved in a full-on relegation scrap last season, that is a spot they will be looking to stay clear of this campaign.
However, a chance to make amends is right around the corner, with Tottenham set to take on Newcastle United in matchweek two at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Speaking to Betfair, former Newcastle forward Alan Shearer has now sent out his score prediction for the weekend’s game.
The record Premier League goalscorer believes that Newcastle could have the edge after their opening game, but he also expects Tottenham to respond following their heavy defeat to Brentford.
He said: “This is a really tough one to call. Judging by the first games, you probably have to edge with Newcastle, but Spurs cannot be any worse than what they were at Brentford.
“They were embarrassed there, so clearly there will be a response and they will improve. But they are going to have to attack Newcastle, and I guess that will suit Newcastle because of the pace they have on the break, the way they hit Liverpool on the break, that is what they will try to do away from home at Spurs. I am going to go for a Newcastle away win.”

Spurs can improve against Newcastle with new signings
Spurs definitely have to improve this weekend, and they look on course for a better display having already bolstered their squad.
Tottenham signed both Savio and Omar Marmoush earlier in the week, and the pair are set to be involved this weekend.
Savio had an impressive debut against Charlton and his inclusion in the Spurs XI would certainly give them an extra edge against Newcastle United.
Marmoush is also set to be involved, but whether that will be from the off remains to be seen. Roberto De Zerbi will now be hoping these players improve Spurs’ performance against the Magpies.
