Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Andreas Schjelderup after his heroics at the World Cup this summer.
Tottenham have registered an interest in Schjelderup, who has impressed on the biggest stage this summer, scoring once and providing four assists for Norway as they made it to the quarter-final of the World Cup.
The Lilywhites are prioritising adding a left-winger to their squad before the start of the new season, and the 22-year-old is one of the names at the top of Roberto De Zerbi’s wishlist.

While the winger’s release clause stands at €100m (£85m), the report claims that Benfica are ready to sell the player for just €40m (£34m) this summer.
However, the Portuguese club’s preference is to keep Schjelderup and tie him down to a new contract on the back of his World Cup heroics.
In fact, Eagles president Rui Costa has already begun talks with the winger’s representatives regarding a new long-term deal in Lisbon.
