Tottenham Hotspur are in a four-horse race to land Levante starlet Karl Etta Eyong, but the Lilywhites will have to wait to find out if they have a chance of securing the youngster.

Tottenham were first credited with an interest in Etta Eyong last summer, and the striker’s stock has only gone up since then after his impressive season at Levante.

Spurs also allegedly explored a move for the 22-year-old forward in the winter, but he once again decided to stay put at the La Liga club, eventually finishing the season with seven goals and four assists in 34 appearances.

The Lilywhites have now discovered that their pursuit of the Cameroon international has got a lot harder this summer.

Tottenham in four-horse race for Karl Etta Eyong

According to Tuesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo (as relayed by Sport Witness), Spurs are continuing to eye a move for the Levante man, but they have now been joined by another Premier League rival.

It is revealed that De Zerbi’s men and Everton have both been impressed by the 22-year-old’s displays this season and are plotting moves to bring the centre-forward to the Premier League.

The pair have also been joined in the race for Etta Eyong by Stuttgart, but more consequentially, the youngster has also caught the attention of Barcelona, who are on the lookout for a new number nine.

Etta Eyong is waiting for Barcelona to make a move

Mundo Deportivo say that Levante are in favour of a sale of their striker and have set a price of €25m (£21.6m) excluding bonuses.

However, Tottenham Hotspur cannot just pay the fee and land Etta Eyong immediately, as the player is still hoping to join Barca after Robert Lewandowski’s exit from Camp Nou.

The outlet explains that it is not clear if Barca are prioritising a move for the Levante man, but the 22-year-old will not make a final decision on his future without finding out if the Catalan giants want him.
