Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to circle over Royale Union Saint-Gilloise starlet Anan Khalaili, and the latest developments over his future will not have gone unnoticed at N17.
Spurs are expected to prioritise adding to their forward line over the coming weeks after significantly strengthening their midfield and their backline at the start of the transfer window.
A wide player is thought to be one of the club’s priorities, and it emerged last month that Tottenham were exploring a move for Anan Khalaili, who is coming off an excellent campaign in Belgium, which saw him score six times and register six assists.
Reports in Belgium suggested that Spurs faced competition from Serie A clubs for the 21-year-old winger, but the player’s proposed move to Italy has now fallen through.

Het Nieuwsblad now reveals that the winger’s proposed move to Inter Milan has now fallen through due to an issue that was spotted during his medical tests.
The outlet reveals that the Nerazzurri agreed a €32m (£25.4m) deal for Union SG for Khalaili, but the Serie A club pulled the plug after discovering an irregularity in his heart rhythm.
The report explains that this has opened the door for Premier League clubs to complete a deal for the Israeli international, who has plenty of admirers in England.
Apart from Tottenham Hotspur, the versatile winger, who can also operate as a wing-back, is also on the radars of both Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.
Khalaili can move to the Premier League despite heart issue
Het Nieuwsblad reveal that the Union SG star can no longer move to Italy, as Serie A has stricter rules when it comes to heart issues, but Premier League clubs are allowed to sign him.
So far, none of the three English clubs has made concrete advances towards Khalaili since he favoured a move to Inter, but that may now change.
The 21-year-old will now visit a specialist in Belgium as Union SG want him to undertake further tests to get to the bottom of what Inter found in the player’s medical.
